Displacement Sensors

A selection of our linear displacement sensors in various sizes• PRODUCT RANGE
LDS Displacement sensors within the range include 0-5mm, 0-10mm, 0-25mm, 0-50mm and 0-100mm. For technical information see the SPECIFICATIONs page for performance data and dimensional sizes. Sensors are available in 3 body diameters, the LDS which has an outer case Ø17.4 available in the 5-50mm range and the LD20 with an outer case Ø19.0, also available in the 5-50mm range. The LDS100 is supplied in a 25.4mm diameter casing. Displacement sensors are supplied with sprung return stainless steel ball anvil mounted on a spindle end (the sliding part) and measure displacement relative to the body of the displacement transducer. Standard sensors are supplied with a 2 metre flying lead, with other cable options and lengths also being available.

• OUTPUT OPTIONS
LDS sensors come as standard with a voltage output ranging from typically 4.3mV/V through to 7.7mV/V with infinite resolution over the displacement range. Sensors can also be supplied with the common industrial output types including 4-20mA, 0-5V and 0-10V output options. Please specify your preferred option when placing an order.

• ENGINEERED FOR QUALITY
LDS sensors rugged construction, low force spring return spindle, utilising low excitation voltage, light current consumption and strain gauge sensor compatibility are all key design factors coupled with modern production techniques of this precision engineered sensor that offer the customer a robust and consistent quality product.

• ACCURACY
LDS sensors produce proportional voltage output in relation to the captivated guided spindle displacement via the four active arms of a 350 ohm strain gauge bridge arrangement. This fully active bridge provides excellent temperature compensation characteristics coupled with true output linearity.

• COMPATIBILITY
LDS sensors belong to the family of strain gauge sensors and exhibit the same inherent advantages for linearity, resolution and versatility as such they compatible with a wide range of commonly used sensors for load, pressure, acceleration, vibration etc. utilising a millivolt signal, suitable for direct coupling with a lot of commonly available instrumentation. Outputs such as 4-20mA, 0-5V and 0-10V are also available and also suitable for direct coupling to industrial measurement systems. Sensors are supplied in commonly available body sizes to make them interchangeable on equipment with other displacement transducer types.

• VALUE
LDS sensors compatibility with low cost instrumentation, providing higher accuracy test data, reliable feed back and control, yields greater value in wide variety of applications, industrial process control, civil engineering projects, soil mechanics, R & D testing, automotive and aerospace etc.
